Masaaki Hatano is the Founder and Co-CEO of Marvis Inc., a serial entrepreneur with multiple company exits across Japan and the US. He is also active as an investor and mentor.
Early in his career, he worked in IT consulting on projects for Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, and Citi Bank. He then served as Sales Director at West Side Labs through its acquisition. At Rakuten, he led the business incubation division, driving partnerships and investments with overseas startups. At Recruit Holdings, he was VP of Ventures, handling 14 investments and 2 M&A deals across the US and Europe.
He went on to found three IT B2C companies, each successfully exited. In 2017, he founded DFA Robotics Inc., growing it into one of Japan's leading service robotics firms and selling it to listed company Change Inc. in 2022. He currently serves as Chairman.
Lumexa was conceived under Masaaki's vision of "automating operations at the UI level, without relying on APIs." He led the product strategy and direction. He holds AI certifications from MIT Sloan School and MIT CSAIL, and specializes in designing AI-powered, implementation-focused products.
Haziq is the Co-Founder and CTO of Marvis Inc., and the engineering leader who oversaw the technical development of Lumexa. Since 2015, he has been building production-level AI and software products.
He co-founded Grayphite, an AI-based software development firm that reached cash-flow positive within 8 months, building an engineering team of 30 and implementing GPT-2 at an early stage.
As Director of Engineering at ABBI.Ai, he joined from the ground up, developing AI-powered CRM and web generation systems and building automation that improved ad optimization efficiency by 22%. The company was acquired by a major US corporation.
At Lumexa, he led the browser automation engine, AI control logic, and LLM integration design — turning the complex technical challenge of API-free, UI-level automation into a shippable product. He holds a Machine Learning Specialization from Stanford University and has a background in computer science.
